April has been quite the month for me. Started working from home, moved into a new bigger apartment (because my GF moved in), cancelled a bunch of autocross events, and managed my first major renovation project at work. T he client wouldn’t hire a GC for the first 2 packages , so I’ve been wrangling sub-contractors on top of trying to get the rest of the renovations/additions designed and out the door. Honestly think I’ve slept about 3 hours a night for the past week. Thankfully, the final drawing package for the additions is going out after lunch today.

Sounds like you got to be the gc.
I’m hopeful I can get a job soon. Luckily the construction industry was deemed essential so people are still hiring. I have an interview on Friday with an engineering consulting firm. Would be a change of pace and income. Plus it’s a 15 minute bike ride from my house.

Been working at home for six(?) weeks now with 9 year old twins. I have tapped into a reserve of patience I did not know I had.
I have also tapped into online wine purchasing. This is not a coincidence.

I’m doing the work from home thing 4 days a week. I go in to the office on Mondays to check the mail and make sure it’s still there. No kids here and my wife still has to work from her office so it’s the opposite of what everybody else is dealing with. It’s too quiet. I have to have some music going or YouTube car renovation videos running just to get some noise generated.

Oh yeah, I’m getting to play GC, and it’s not great. I’m just amazed that these guys can’t fill out a bid form to save their lives. Literally just asks if you’re taking any alternates and has a space to write your bid, shouldn’t have to hold their hands to fill it out.
Everyone who’s reasonably stable is taking advantage of the shutdown to do their renovations. I think the GCs are doing okay overall , but some of the guys who do work primarily with the aircraft industry are hurting since Textron is shut down.

I need to jack the Miata up and check the wheel bearings and brake pads. Probably should check for clearance to see if I can fit a 225 tire in my fenders instead of the 205s I’ve been running.

Dang, you’re desk setup is clean. Mine’s been a train wreck since day two.
I alternate between standing and sitting so the serving tray is my makeshift Varidesk. I just need a smaller keyboard so I can move my trackball to a better location.
Work for me didn’t slow down a bit. As usual, I’m juggling two projects and dabbling in a third when they need me. I’m not complaining. I feel quite lucky to be fully employed.

Been working from home full time the last few weeks, while also continuing the months long process of trying to get a better job. Telecommuting does make it easier to field calls from recruiters and such, at least.

It’s quieter for me now that I’ve moved from the dining room into our home office space. I had an Echo Dot sitting in a box, so I brought it into the office to provide background music.
